Nigel Farage let rip at the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow for his recent decision to allow an amendment to be voted on.

The former UKIP leader was furious at Mr Bercow and claimed that he ignored legal advice received from the clerks of the House.

The motion, which was ultimately passed would force the government to reveal it’s ‘plan B’ for when May’s Brexit deal is rejected just three days after the vote.

Mr Farage blasted: “He is not impartial on this or frankly any other issue. I think he’s stepped way over the mark today, he’s broken with parliamentary precedent.

“He’s ignored the legal advice he was given by the clerks of the House, he’s refused to publish that advice.

“You know, a few months ago he was going to be sacked wasn’t he, remember the bullying scandal.

“All those things that were being said, he was going to be sacked, it was the Labour Party predominantly that kept him in place and they kept him in place because he wants to disrupt Brexit.”

“The man is just a twister, he is abusing not just his own position, but the integrity of that position of Speaker of House of Commons.

“And why would he ignore the legal advice he’s given?

“Is he that politically motivated?”

Nigel Farage is not the only politician to be outraged with the Speaker. Conservative MP, Mark Francois also vented his frustration, telling the speaker in the 18 years he has been an MP he’s never experienced a speaker overrule a House of Commons motion

He told the Speaker: “I’ve not been in this house as long as you, but I have been here for 18 years, but I have never known any occasion when any speaker has overruled a motion of the House of Commons.

“Just to finish, you have said again and again that you are a servant of this word and we will take you at your word. So why are you overriding a motion of the House today?”
