Former SAS trooper, Phil Campion took to Twitter to grill the leader of the opposition, Jeremy Corbyn.

The Falkland Islands are a small overseas British territory around 400 miles away from Argentina and 10,000 from UK mainland.

In 1982 the British government sent a large task force to recapture the Islands after Argentina took control by force.

Mr Corbyn has long been a supporter of negotiations to take place between the United Kingdom and Argentine government on the status/sovereignty of the Islands, even though the Falkland Islanders wish to remain British.

One Argentine diplomat said: “His decisive leadership can guide the British public opinion to promote dialogue between the governments of the United Kingdom and Argentina.”

Corbyn has been on record calling for a UN-brokered plan for the Islands and even claimed the 1982 conflict was a “Tory plot”.

Phil Campion tweeted: “So @jeremycorbyn would hand over the Falkland Islands. @falklands_utd What a complete disregard for the lives lost ridding the place of invaders .”

Very well said!

Over 3,000 people have liked the tweet.

A Labour spokesman recently said: “The Labour Party policy remains that the people of the Falkland Islands have the right to determine their own future.

“We are committed to upholding the right of the Falkland Islanders to self-determination, including by ensuring the defence of the islands. Hilary is not aware of any proposals for what you have called a ‘power-sharing deal’ in regard to the Falklands,”

Like most politicians, they say one thing and do another. So I recommend you all to take this statement from Labour with a pinch of salt!
